Connection Points Homeschool Conference

January 23rd, 2027            14305 Covenant Way, Lakewood Ranch, FL 34202

KeyNote Speaker- Dr Peter Gray

Dr. Peter Gray is a research professor of psychology at Boston College and one of the leading voices on children’s natural ways of learning and the lifelong value of play. He is the author of Free to Learn: Why Unleashing the Instinct to Play Will Make Our Children Happier, More Self-Reliant, and Better Students for Life, along with the widely used college textbook Psychology, now in its eighth edition. His research spans neuroendocrinology, developmental psychology, anthropology, and education, with a focus on how children educate themselves through play and exploration when they’re free to do so. He is a founding member of the Alliance for Self-Directed Education and a founding board member of Let Grow, and he writes the popular Substack Play Makes Us Human. His newest book, Restoring Childhood: How to Set Kids Free in the Age of Anxiety, releases September 15, 2026, and makes the case that the youth mental health crisis has less to do with screens and more to do with the erosion of children’s freedom to explore.
